I also found out that comics artist<a href="http://www.underthehaystack.net/4104/mocca-comic-art-festival-2010-new-york/"> Kenan Rubenstein mentioned my mini-comic <i>Sub-Text</i> on his report back for MOCCA</a>. Kenan's work is some of the most innovative I've seen. Many of his books are fold comics, meaning that there are no page turns, but all folds. The books slowly grow as you read them, building from one small introductory image to a final huge climax image. In between, the scale, and so the possible layouts for the books constantly change. The art and stories are also on point. They are worth tracking down, or ordering from his site.Chéhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06774708053686349687noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-591649908284511647.post-74187400568344502002010-05-20T17:17:00.000-07:002010-05-20T17:17:52.839-07:00MECAF!<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEihXcVg2hEU2IFheSFJvoEP75WfiBH1rN2Zm7PyWrkWtSXPsDD1SOlLycvQi4i9Nl2cZJvsfsn_n0faRTLsXJrAQhaV9d-7A4IeLXWahey9x9ztJLw0uhOAGUTcEXnUDKBIx3TJy30tYfSX/s1600/maine_comic_arts.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEihXcVg2hEU2IFheSFJvoEP75WfiBH1rN2Zm7PyWrkWtSXPsDD1SOlLycvQi4i9Nl2cZJvsfsn_n0faRTLsXJrAQhaV9d-7A4IeLXWahey9x9ztJLw0uhOAGUTcEXnUDKBIx3TJy30tYfSX/s400/maine_comic_arts.jpg" width="258" /></a></div>DIY Jet will be at the <a href="http://www.mainecomicsfestival.com/">Maine Comics Art Festival</a> this weekend. This comics anthology features the work of Agnes Anger, Abel Jimenez, and Ché Salazar. Images to come soon, and sorry for the long delay in communication. I was writing my honors thesis, and Joe has had plenty of projects keeping him busy. Things are moving at DIY Jet. Get excited.Chéhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06774708053686349687noreply@blogger.com0
